After staring a collaborative process over the course of the last year, sharing the Balamuc studio in Timisoara, among many other common interests and practices, LuciAna (the duo I form with Lucian Barbu) has developed a series of 9 drawings, addressing their own perspective and experience regarding mental health in a semi-humorous manner. As LuciAna we are active in vegan activism, art therapy and other practices connecting to care and liberation. We share a common interest for publishing, especially zine making, and they cater for the small zine archive at the studio in Timisoara. Our approach comes from their dynamic of caring for themselves, as well as for others, and has a liberating conclusion. The artworks were developed in their shared studio, where they cook and work together.
Ulična galerija has a 12 years long legacy of open air exhibitions, concerts and cultural events, recuperating and integrating a ruined public space in the center of Belgrade into the vibrant cultural scene of Belgrade.
